I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Faculty Affiliate of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program at Hofstra University. I received my PhD in Sociology from Columbia University and completed a postdoc at Princeton University. I also have a Master’s in Urban Planning from Harvard University.

I study the role of place in shaping the life trajectories of immigrants in their children, mostly in the United States and in Europe. I study this topic by analyzing survey data and conducting interviews. Other ongoing projects examine the experiences of recently resettled refugees in the United States and new arrivals on the US-Mexico border.

Soy profesor asistente de sociología y profesor afiliado al Programa de Estudios de América Latina y el Caribe en Hofstra University. Obtuve el doctorado en sociología de Columbia University y completé un postdoc en Princeton University. También soy maestro en planeación urbana por Harvard University.

Estudio el papel del lugar en la formación de las trayectorias de vidas de los inmigrantes y sus hijos, principalmente en Estados Unidos y Europa. Estudio este tema mediante el análisis de encuestas y realizando entrevistas a profundidad. Mis otros proyectos investigan las experiencias de refugiados recién reasentados en EEUU y migrantes nuevos en la frontera México-Estados Unidos.
