#FLG_litrev.csv
Data compiled by author and team. Contains year of text (year), author (author), journal (journal), whether the word incorporation, integration, assimilation (or its relevant forms (e.g integrate) is contained in the the text (incorporation), scale of analysis (scale), number of sites studied in this text (n_sites, 99999 == a large unspecified number of sites), text coder (AV, MB or FLG) and book number by citation (Book_X).

Note: A small number of texts were coded as AUTHOR 2. This is because the texts used two unconnected sources of data. To deal with these these texts, two observations were created that indicated the different data sources.

Data from World Urbanization Prospects 2018. File 12: Population of Urban Agglomerations with 300,000 Inhabitants or More in 2018, by country, 1950-2035 (thousands). Data from 2010 used. Available at https://population.un.org/wup/Download/

#FLG_dfpop.xlsx
Population ranking derived by author. When possible, population ranking was derived using the World Urbanization prospects. When the list of top three cities in a country was not available (for example when the third largest city has less than 300,000 people) this ranking was taken from Wikipedia.

#FLG_misspop.rds
Missing population derived by author. Since the WUP only covers settlements with more that 300,000 people, population estimates for remaining sites were taken directly from the closest 2010 census estimates available in each country. If neither of this information was available, then no estimate was indicated.
